Cosmos comes to Enscape with 2,000+ new render-ready assets

Summary:

  • Cosmos is now available in Enscape, providing architects and designers with a smarter way to access curated, ready-to-use 3D assets in real-time.
  • This makes Cosmos Chaos’ universal 3D asset delivery system, reaffirming its dedication to consistency and interoperability between all its products.
  • Over 2,000 new Cosmos assets are added in Enscape 4.11, as well as a slew of new features and updates with the latest version.
  • Envision also gets new content with over 5,000 high-quality render-ready Cosmos assets added to it.

Cosmos is now available in Enscape 🚀. Users will enjoy a more intuitive way to search, filter, and place content within their design workflows. Plus, over 2,000 new Cosmos assets have been added, and additional updates in Enscape.

Cosmos comes to Enscape

Chaos Cosmos is a universe of smart content with thousands of high-quality models, materials, and HDRI skies that work perfectly with your visualization projects. This update makes Cosmos Enscape’s asset delivery platform, which comes with:

  • Centralized asset management: A single platform for accessing assets across various Chaos products, streamlining the workflow.
  • Scalability: Cosmos offers a more extensive infrastructure, allowing for potential expansion and increased asset variety over time.
  • Consistent asset quality: All existing Enscape assets will retain their original quality and functionality when delivered via Cosmos, and all future assets will continue to meet the same high standards users expect from the Enscape library.

The Cosmos Browser interface features advanced search and filtering, which simplifies asset browsing, discovery, and downloading. This improves the user experience as it offers:

  • Better search: The Cosmos search functionality indexes metadata and descriptions to deliver more accurate and relevant results.
  • Detailed asset view: A new "detailed view" option that shows extended asset information and suggests similar assets for faster discovery.
  • Online catalog: Web-accessible catalog that lets users and clients browse the full asset library outside of Enscape, serving as a presentation tool and reference point.

Starting with Enscape 4.11, Cosmos replaces the Enscape Asset Library. Users on earlier versions of Enscape will continue to access assets via the Enscape Asset Library, but will not receive any new assets.

Later this year, the AI Material Generator will come to Enscape. Already available in V-Ray 7 for Max, update 2, this feature lets you turn any photo into a realistic, tileable material in just a few clicks, giving you instant design flexibility.

The addition of the AI Material Generator is the next step in making Cosmos and Enscape smarter. It will help you spend less time on setup and more time bringing your designs to life.

More than 2,000 real-time render-ready assets

With Enscape 4.11, you can now access over 2,000 new Enscape-ready assets. The growing low-poly library will continue to expand, offering a diverse collection of vegetation, furniture, people, accessories, and more. The assets are lightweight and easy to use in design-stage workflows. Key things to note are:

  • Asset exclusivity: Enscape assets remain exclusive to Enscape, despite being delivered through Cosmos.
  • Asset delivery: Cosmos only acts as a delivery platform for Enscape-specific assets. It will not provide access to the broader Cosmos asset library within Enscape. Only new assets will be added.
  • User experience: Assets are still accessible within Enscape, but through the Cosmos delivery system, which provides a more centralized and organized asset management experience.

Thousands of models are optimized for performance, allowing you to design and visualize more efficiently through a streamlined, organized workflow. Users must update to version 4.11 to benefit from Cosmos in Enscape.

Over 5,000 high-quality assets in Envision

Take your storytelling and presentations further with Envision, which now comes with a revamped Cosmos integration and more than 5,000 new assets. The release adds 1,300 people, 2,000 vegetation models, and 1,800 furniture and accessories. The assets are all high-quality and render-ready, which brings more realism and depth to your projects.

Please note that the number of assets varies between Solo, Premium, and ArchDesign Collection versions of Enscape and Envision. Stay tuned for more information on Envision coming soon.

Universal 3D asset delivery system

Having Cosmos in Enscape expands the number of Chaos products that deliver assets through the Cosmos platform, making it the universal asset delivery system. It also moves Enscape closer to a unified asset experience across Chaos tools like Envision, V-Ray, and Corona, enabling easier asset management across platforms.

The Enscape integration is not Comos’s only update. Chaos Scans, ultra-realistic scanned materials, was added to the library earlier this year, and static people assets from Anima will also be added. You can browse and use assets and materials in all Chaos products through one familiar experience.

⚠️Important to note⚠️: You must update your Cosmos Browser to access the new assets. When you open Cosmos, you will see a pop-up notification prompting you to update. If you close the window without updating, you’ll need to perform the update manually.

Additional Enscape updates

Enhanced software ray-traced sun shadows

Software ray tracing now includes colored sun shadows and improved shadow rendering in fog, resulting in more accurate, atmospheric lighting. This applies to Ultra-quality walkthroughs and captures.

Automatic level of detail for complex geometry

This update adds a new approach to automatically simplifying dense scene geometry in the background. It helps maintain smooth performance and responsiveness in models with high geometric complexity.

Rhino PBR Material support

Enscape now supports roughness textures from Rhino’s Physically Based Materials (Rhino 7 & 8), enabling more accurate material rendering and improved surface realism. This update enhances visual fidelity while maintaining full compatibility with legacy Enscape materials, ensuring a smooth transition for existing projects.
