The State of AI in Architecture Report (2024)

A 2024 industry study conducted by Chaos, in collaboration with Architizer, gathered insights from 1,200+ designers worldwide to explore the present use and future implications of AI in architectural design.

The survey asked participants about their use of AI in design processes today, the challenges they encounter with current AI technologies, the kinds of regulations they believe will be necessary, and their perspectives on how AI might influence their field.

Insights include:

  • Almost all designers are currently using AI or planning to in the future (70%).
  • Many designers experience improved efficiency in their design workflow with AI (60%).
  • Most agree that ethical guidelines are needed (74%).
