Veras is an AI-powered visualization tool for architects and designers. Its latest versions, Veras 4.4 and 4.5 release a bunch of new features and updates to give you an even smoother AI-driven visualization workflow.
List of new features and updates:
- Render selection modes for Nano Banana
- Cloud storage use
- Remove background
- Upload history
- Describe source image
- Plus, more!
Rotate Image
A brand new render edit feature, Rotate Image, lets you reorient a source image in 3D before generating a render. Drag the interactive rotate preview to set pitch, yaw, and roll, fine-tune with the slider controls in the edit pane, and Veras will produce a fresh render from the new viewpoint.
This unlocks new viewpoints from any single source image without needing a 3D model.
NOTE: Drag the preview to rotate the source image in 3D space. Generate a fresh render from the rotated viewpoint. You can even make a video from the different frames.
Render selection modes: Modify or Replace
Two new render selection modes for the Nano Banana engine, Modify and Replace, give you finer control over how selections are interpreted. The new Refine-mode toggles drastically improve the render selection feature.
- Modify: Render selection that preserves the underlying geometry and better understands what needs to be edited. Useful for changing dimensions, materials, or finishes while retaining geometry.
- Replace: Render selection that discards the selection and comes up with a fresh new idea for that selection. Useful for reimagining an area of a building or redesigning part of your scene.
Cloud storage usage
Keep an eye on your cloud storage from the Account modal. A live progress bar shows how much of your storage is in use, with warning and error states so you know exactly when it’s time to make space or upgrade (in the future). Storage state updates in real-time as you generate, delete, or import renders.
Smart Selection
A new selection workflow, Smart Selection, uses AI to understand what’s in your image and lets you select objects, materials, or categories with a single click. Combine it with the new Modify/Replace modes for surgical edits without ever touching a mask brush.
Pick from category, object, or material flows, or write a custom prompt to target anything in the scene. Recent prompts are saved with thumbnails so you can re-use selections across renders. Custom prompt selection maps are generated in parallel, cached, persisted to the cloud, and restored when you switch renders or workspaces. This feature is available across every host (Enscape, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, Vectorworks, Archicad, Forma, and web).
NOTE: One click enables selection of every instance of a material or object class using Alt key
Share gallery items
You can now share any render or gallery item with a shareable link with no account required to view, and recipients can clone shared items into their own gallery in one click.
Manage everything from the new Shares panel: copy links, revoke shares you no longer want public, and track share analytics. Share codes also work as URL parameters, so you can drop a link into Slack, an email, or social media and your work persists across redirects and logins.
NOTE: Share a render via link, and recipients can preview and clone it into their own gallery
NOTE: Manage all your active shares from one place — copy or revoke at any time
Remove Background
A brand new render mode, Remove Background, replaces the background of any source image with transparency. The result exports as a transparent PNG for compositing into mockups, presentations, or downstream tools.
NOTE: Generate a transparent-PNG cutout from any source image
Upload history
Manual uploads now behave like renderings. Every image you upload in a session is retained for navigation with prev/next arrows on the source selector, so you can jump back to an earlier upload without re-importing. This is especially useful when stringing together frames for a video.
Drag-drop multiple files at once, restore your last upload when switching tabs, and use uploaded images everywhere a source image is accepted (still, video, Rotate Image, Remove Background).
NOTE: Cycle through your manually-uploaded images with the new prev/next arrows
New sketch tools
The sketch toolbar has been overhauled with dedicated buttons for Freehand, Line, and Curve tools, plus full undo/redo support (keyboard shortcuts included). Click-to-place previews make the Line and Curve tools feel precise, brush color and width persist across sessions, and per-pixel selection makes picking individual sketch strokes much more reliable.
Describe Source Image
Describe Source Image is now part of the main panel (no longer experimental). Powered by a new AI model, Florence 2, it generates a written description of your source image at the detail level you choose: Short, Medium, or Long.
Use it as a starting point for your prompt, copy the description to the clipboard with one click, or cancel mid-request if you change your mind. Changing the source image automatically clears the prior description so you always know what you’re describing.
NOTE: Florence 2 generates Short, Medium, or Long descriptions of your source image — copy to use in your prompt
More improvements

- Source image is now respected in Rotate Image workflows
- Updated content filter policy
- Iframe-based 3rd-party web integration login bug is now fixed
- Improved error handling and reporting for favorite toggles
- Fixed a bug where clicking the “add render to workspace” button in the expanded gallery view would unexpectedly close the dialog after a few interactions
- Clicking the background in Gallery Mode while in an expanded view now closes the expanded view
- Fixed Forma context detection bug
- Gallery loads faster — video thumbnails generate in the background, images preload on hover, layout uses true video dimensions for correct aspect ratios
