What is the Chaos AI Enhancer?

The Chaos AI Enhancer allows you to elevate the quality of your visualizations within Enscape, V-Ray, and Corona. It leverages AI to improve assets, specifically people and vegetation assets, as well as large surfaces. Unlike other tools, the Chaos AI Enhancer is not a third-party solution, so you don't have to leave your design application to boost architectural visualization quality.

The feature provides:

  • A streamlined workflow: easily upload and enhance images via Chaos Cloud while continuing to work in Enscape, V-Ray, or Corona, saving time and maintaining productivity.

  • Professional sharing: share enhanced images through a dedicated platform, improving client communication and feedback.

  • User-friendly integration: access the AI Enhancer directly from Enscape, V-Ray, or Corona, and manage your enhanced renderings within Chaos Cloud.

  • Advanced controls: fine-tune selected objects and adjust finer details such as clothing, hair color, or add dirt, wear, or aging to a surface. Learn more about the AI Enhancer advanced controls

Leveraging AI to elevate Chaos assets

Once a render is uploaded to Chaos Cloud, the AI Enhancer detects characters, vegetation, and large surfaces. You can select which elements to enhance, without affecting the rest of the image. For 3D people, for example, it’s possible to define the age group, gender, ethnicity, hair color, and facial expression. There is also a creativity parameter that allows you to dial up the level of creativity if desired.

It’s worth noting that for Enscape specifically, many assets are produced in-house, with a strict polygon budget that allows you to place multiple assets without a loss of performance. With the AI Enhancer, you can export better-looking assets straight from Enscape. Our AI engine solution leverages the knowledge of the underlying scene to ensure superior results compared to other AI-generated images.

How to use Chaos AI Enhancer

The Chaos AI Enhancer is available in supported versions of Enscape, V-Ray, and Corona. To access it, you must be logged in with a valid (non-trial) Chaos license.

Before enhancing your images, keep in mind:

  • Resolution minimum: The width or height of the rendered image must be no less than 512px.

  • Resolution limit: The maximum supported resolution for Enscape is 2048 × 2048px. For Corona and V-Ray, the maximum resolution is 4096px on the longer edge.

  • Use case: The AI Enhancer focuses primarily on improving people, vegetation, and large surfaces.

  • Workflow: Enhancing an image is similar to exporting a render or screenshot. Upload it into Chaos Cloud, then select the elements you’d like to enhance.

Once processed, enhanced images are automatically saved to your designated download location or accessible via Chaos Cloud.

For information on how to prepare your images for enhancement before uploading them to Chaos Cloud, please refer to the following documentation:

FAQs

Does the AI Enhancer replace my original render?

No. When you process an image in Chaos Cloud, the enhanced version is saved as a new iteration. This allows you to compare the AI-refined version with your original render side-by-side.

Why are there different resolution limits for Enscape versus V-Ray and Corona?

Enscape is optimized for real-time speed and rapid feedback, with a current AI enhancement limit of 2048px. V-Ray and Corona, being production-grade path tracers used for high-res stills and print, support up to 4096px on the longer edge to maintain the detail required for professional architectural presentations.

Do I need to use specific assets for the AI Enhancer to work?

While the AI Enhancer is specifically trained to provide superior results with Chaos Cosmos assets (people and vegetation), it also works on large surfaces and general scene geometry. However, using assets from the Cosmos library ensures the AI has the best understanding of the object’s initial form.

Can I adjust how creative the AI gets with my design?

Yes. The Creativity Mode and its associated parameters allow you to dial the AI's influence up or down. At lower levels, it simply polishes existing geometry (e.g., smoothing a face). At higher levels, it can introduce new textures, such as realistic weathering on a concrete wall or more intricate patterns on clothing.

Is the AI Enhancer available during a trial period?

No. To access the AI Enhancer features in Enscape, V-Ray, or Corona, you must be logged in with a valid, non-trial Chaos license. This is because the process utilizes Chaos Cloud resources to perform the heavy lifting required for the AI calculations.
